Of course, all deposits are registered via the Deposit Protection Scheme (DPS), protecting both the tenant and landlord from disputes.

It is important that repairs that fall under landlord’s responsibilities are reported swiftly. Failure to do so could cause further damage and incur you costs.

Your landlord is responsible for:

  • the property’s structure and exterior
  • basins, sinks, baths and other sanitary fittings including pipes and drains
  • heating and hot water
  • gas appliances, pipes, flues and ventilation
  • electrical wiring
  • any damage caused by repair work

Emergency repairs are faults that could cause a health and safety risk to either yourself, other people or serious damage to property and must be dealt with, within 24hrs of reporting.
